Lough Erne Amateur Radio Club will be running a special event radio station to mark the 100 year anniversary since hearing the first message of the Great War ending in 1918, a message which was intended for reception by London, sent from the Eiffel Tower in France.

It was reported that a radio amateur intercepted the message four hours earlier than London on the 11th of Nov 1918, and spread the news by running up to the local parish church and ringing the bells.

Come along to the event and learn all about what happened on Armistice day in Enniskillen, and also get a chance to operate our radio station and talk to people all over the world!
